You will soar through the tallest trees in the rainforest on the Mabira Forest Canopy Super Skyway, a canopy “zip-line” system. This skyway is located at the Griffin Falls camp, outside of Lugazi town, 44 kilometers east of Kampala City.

An extensive network of 5 zip lines that span 250 meters across the River Musamya is used to guide you as you move through old trees.

Participants have been hoisted up the first tree, brought through the entire system, and ejected on a 78m diagonal zip line using strong international safety standards, imported climbing gear, and American art high ropes.

One can see the forest levels, animals such as grey-cheeked mangabeys and red-tailed monkeys, birds such as palm nut vultures, African fish eagles, big blue turacos, and the roaring Griffin Falls from a high vantage point in the canopy.

Jet boating on the Nile

On the Nile River, jet boating is another thrilling activity that provides a Nile experience that is distinct from white water rafting.

You can experience the Nile’s rapids in this fast boat, bringing out your most daring self.

Mountain gorilla trekking

Mountain gorillas can be found in Uganda’s Mgahinga Gorilla National Park and Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. Many visitors rank going on an adventure tour that includes gorilla trekking as the most enjoyable activity out of the 10 listed here.

Ntebeko in Mghahinga National Park and Buhoma, Ruhija, Rushaga, and Nkuringo in Bwindi Forest are the five locations in Uganda where it occurs.

Only eight people are permitted to track one gorilla family every day, and there are only 18 habituated mountain gorilla groups or families in Uganda.

The greatest times to go gorilla tracking and trekking are from June to September and from December to February during the dry season.

Being a country of hills, valleys, and volcanic mountains, Uganda offers the best hiking chances for your safari, providing numerous opportunities for the most memorable hiking adventures in the various national parks and highlands.

One of the best locations to go mountain climbing is the Rwenzori Mountains. It’s found on the border of Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. It is the 3rd highest mountain in Africa with snow at the highest peak known as Margherita.

There are at least four trails to the summit of this mountain with the longest taking approximately 8 days.

Mount Elgon which lies on the border of Uganda and Kenya is another great place to go mountaineering. The varied vegetation zones along the slopes harbor plenty of wildlife that one may encounter during the trek.

Two major trails lead to the peak, the Sasa trail, and the Budadiri trail. The others include the Virunga mountains and Sipi Falls.

Bungee Jumping

Among the top adrenaline pumping activities in Africa, bungee jumping is also available in Uganda. It is only practiced on the River Nile in Jinja, and it is a very good and safe sport that someone needs to engage in to overcome the common fear of heights.

A person jumps off a 44-kilometer-tall cliff 3 kilometers upstream of Bujagali Falls to land on the Nile’s waters.

A visitor is psychologically prepared and tethered to a bungee leap by trained employees before diving and falling freely to touch the Nile. This only happens after signing certain paperwork and making payments.

Hot Air Balloon Safari

The hot air balloon safari is one of the many adventure excursions available to people on a lavish honeymoon trip and those looking for a once-in-a-lifetime safari experience in Africa, and it is the ideal romantic and thrilling activity to undertake on an Uganda safari

A ride on one of these gives you an incredible experience of nature. At least 20% of Uganda’s land is covered by water in the form of stunning lakes and rivers.

Lake Victoria, Lake Kyoga, Lake Albert, Lake Mburo, Lake George, Lake Edward, and Lake Bunyonyi are among the lakes on which to have the perfect boat cruise.

The rivers include the Nile, the Katonga, the Kagera, the Sezibwa, and many additional tiny crater lakes.

Sport Fishing

Both novice and seasoned fishermen can enjoy sports fishing on the River Nile. They typically target tilapia, yellow fish, and catfish using techniques like trawling, spinning, and bait fishing; all the necessary fishing equipment, safety equipment, and drinking water are provided.

Nile perch and a few catfish offer anglers the most difficult experiences at Murchison Falls, where sport fishing is done among the rocky surfaces at the bottom of the falls. You can catch small fish using live bait or by spinning.

One must however always be on the lookout for crocodiles and hippos lurking in and around the water.

The best location in the world to do white-water rafting is on the River Nile. Due to Uganda’s tropical environment, the activity can be carried out there throughout the year.

White river rafting is an unforgettable experience thanks to breathtaking scenery, year-round sunshine, and brief periods of precipitation. The Nile’s water rapids will provide you with an experience of a lifetime filled with unequaled exhilaration, as well as swimming holes and other creatures.

Three licensed companies— Raft Uganda, Nile River Explorer, and Nalubale Raft — operate white water rafting in Uganda. Each person receives a boat, a life jacket, and rafting equipment.

Additionally, the Nile and its surroundings, which include towns, farms, and exotic birds feasting on fish, are best experienced by kayaking along the Nile. With beautiful weather and harrowing rapids, kayak the Nile.
