Amos Lugoloobi is the State Minister for Finance and Planning. He is also a representative member for Ntenjeru North, Kayunga District, in Uganda’s 11th Parliament.

Early Life and Education

Amos Lugoloobi was born on June 21, 1961, in Kayunga District. He is an Anglican by faith.

Lugoloobi is married to Evelyne Nakimera, a daughter to late Bwogi (father), former UTV director and Mary Bwogi (mother).

He graduated from Makerere University with a bachelor’s in economics and the Eastern and Southern Africa Management Institute with a master’s in business administration (ESAMI).

Career and Professional Work Experience

Amos Lugoloobi is a politician, a member of parliament and also a member of the National Resistance Movement.

He participates actively in the budgets committee, the finance committee, the planning and economic development committee, and the business committee. Currently, he serves as the state’s minister of finance.

He was successfully elected as the representative for Ntenjeru North, Kayunga District in the 2021 General elections.

Achievements and Awards

He oversees private activities in the areas of clean water, recreation and sports, health, education, student sponsorship programs, and measures to improve the standard of living, such as bore hall drilling and maintenance.

In the Ntenjeru North constituency of Kayunga District, Hon. Amos Lugolobi presided over the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of classroom blocks in the primary schools of Namulanda CU, Kanjuki Umea, and Busaale CU.

To further engage with his constituents, Hon. Lugoolobi created constituency offices in Kayunga Town Council, Kayunga Central, and Busana Town Council. He works with Mr. Kangave David in politics.

He also delivered the budget speech for FY (Financial Year) 2021/22 on behalf of the President of Uganda Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. 


In August 2022, Due to cash flow issues, according to Amos Lugoloobi, the government would now pay the Parish Development Model (PDM) funds in installments.
