Treason charges against the People Power supporter Andrew Mukasa aka Bajjo events has been filed, according to a police declaration released yesterday, Monday, June 17, 2019.
In a press briefing by Fred Enanga, police spokesman said Bajjo is being investigated by the Police Special Investigations Division over the video he published threatening to overthrow President Museveni before general elections in 2021.
The investigation will lead to charges of treason and threatening violence slapped against Mukasa.Enanga said
In this viral video, Bajjo was quoted threatening to overthrow the government of the regime before 2021. And advised against any intervention by the Uganda People’s Defense Forces.
Enanga said President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has been legally elected and is entitled to all a president’s privileges. It becomes a crime for someone to cast threats using strong means to oust his government.

According to Enanga, investigations are ongoing, he says the file will be forwarded to the Director of Prosecutions for perusal and resulting arraignment in law courts when the investigating team finishes their job.
Mr Andrew Bajjo Mukasa, popularly known as Bajjo, the owner of the restricted Bajjo Events and Marketing Agency, was detained by security officials on Saturday and taken into custody.
Bajjo and his colleague Mr Abby Musinguzi, the commonly known as Abitex, the owner of Abitex Promotions, addressed a press conference at Centenary Park in Kampala.
The aim of the press conference was to declare a marathon to raise resources for the leader of People Power, Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine.
