NBS After5 co-host Douglas Lwanga speaks out on Mc Kats current situation after he publicly announced that he was HIV positive.

From the time Edwin Katamba, known by his stage name Mc Kats, publicly announced that he was HIV positive, fans came up through their social media and showed love for him, while other bloggers, in particular, made jokes about him expecting thousands of likes, views and comments.

Ashburg Kato, one of the social media bloggers, has done a lot more harm than good to circulate many videos showing Mc Kats crying out for help from his situation.

As the videos went viral, many people came to co-host of NBS After5, and a friend, Douglas Lwanga, asking why he kept silent about what was going on with Mc Kats.

Through a post on his Facebook page, Douglas Lwanga said that videos everywhere on social media are old and that Mc Kats is fine since he received medication in London.

“Mc Kats is Ok and stable guys no need to cause an alarm. I know lots of people are concerned and worried, Don’t get too worried. What we share me and him is quite personal and there’s no single time that I have no idea what’s happening in his life,” said Douglas.

“I know many of you have been trying to reach out with all sorts of advice and solutions. His family, his mum and we his-close friends have been with him through his dark days and we give thanks to God that he is safe now,” he added.

Douglas said that being silent didn’t mean he wasn’t aware of the current situation of MC Kats.

“Having kept quiet online about his issues didn’t mean I didn’t know what’s going on. I knew so much and we have talked about so much with him that I choose to keep private. Even when he was in the UK I face timed with him and his UK friends so I knew what was going on.”

“My Email is full, my DM and inbox too of people saying I should talk to him and with all sorts of advice. He and I have shared a lot that I don’t find necessary discussing on this platform. However, Thank you for the care guys. If you need to share anything with him regardless, he is Ok with it please reach out to him in person,” said Douglas Lwanga.

He continued to thank all those who were close to Kats most especially when he was in the UK and confirmed Kats King of the Mic show is still on.

“Lastly, I thank the UK team family and friends that stood by him in the hospital to see him stabilize. Again I say Mc Kats is not Mad like some people are taking him online. Even the medics in the UK proved that. His annual show, King of the Mic, is on next week Friday at wave lounge. If you love him fall in, “Douglas.

He also notified that videos circulating online are very old therefore no need to give them attention.

“The videos being circulated are videos before he got treatment. He got medical attention and that’s why he is back in Uganda. It’s a thing of the past so kindly stop sharing them for the love of likes and comments. Let’s be human for a minute,” Douglas Lwanga.
