Accounting and billing solutions are Pegasus Technologies’ specialty, and they have a wealth of knowledge and experience in this field.

In the creation of accounting and billing solutions for businesses, Pegasus Technologies has a wealth of experience and knowledge.

After meeting the strict standards of the National Payments Act, 2020 (NPS Act 2020) and the National Payments Regulations, 2021, the company was granted a license by the Bank of Uganda to function as a Payment Service Operator (PSO)

This is a huge success for the company because the only other businesses in Uganda with such a license are MTN and Airtel Money.

In Uganda, the company has worked with and is now working with many banks, telecoms, and utilities to offer custom financial and billing solutions.

Examples include MTN Uganda, UMEME, KCCA, Stanbic Bank, UGAFODE, Bank of Africa, Makerere University, Africel Uganda, Post Bank, DFCU bank, UTL, and Centenary bank.

The company employs 40 permanent and 50 temporary personnel in sales and marketing and processes over 24 million transactions annually, or roughly UGX 2.5 trillion.

The business serves as an aggregator for billers, merchants, bulk payers, and payment agents for telecoms, banks, billers (such as Umeme, NWSC, URA, KCCA, umbrella authorities under the ministry of water and the environment, electricity companies under REA, solar companies, ISPs, among many others.

The majority of Uganda’s banks have joined with Pegasus to offer an eCommerce Payment Gateway that accepts both Visa/MasterCard and Mobile Money as methods of online payment

To date, Pegasus is the only payment gateway in the nation that offers this kind of service. Pegasus is also equipped to develop and implement customized prepaid card solutions.

For businesses that need to pay a lot of recipients at once, such as UN agencies, other global non-profits, banks, employers, government ministries, departments, and agencies, as well as bulk buyers, Pegasus also offers bulk mobile phone payment options.

Additionally, it manages mobile-based remittances for Ugandans living abroad who want to send money home.

About value-added services, Pegasus has its shortcode (*272#), through which a range of services are provided, including integrated USSD shortcodes for banks and other clients, hosting unique platforms for delivering SMS to all telecoms, and implementing SMS delivery for bulk clients like banks, government MDAs, and non-profits.

The business processes 10 million texts on average each month.

In addition, Pegasus offers bill payment solutions to numerous utility companies, governmental regulatory bodies, pay-TV operators, and higher institutions, among others.

This works in conjunction with USSD and SMS systems to inform customers when their payments have been processed.
