Major Lazor leaves Uganda Music Lovers Yearning for more

A few hours to Uganda’s 56th Independence Day, with the celebrations organized in newly established Kyotera district, Music lovers and thousands of Major Lazer fans were left demanding for more performances claiming that they received a pro-independence experience from their favorite. A show that started slowly at around 6Pm in was first affected by sound breakdowns but got better when technicians fixed the problems as soon as possible which tempted the MC of the night Miss Deedan to call on stage Xfms Deejay Silverback who excited the audience due to his energetic performance.

The show was organized by Club Pilsner

A few minutes after 9pm, NBS TVs MC Kats showed on stage to co-emcee with Deedan and with no waste of anytime, he announced the Pon mi star Beenie Gunter who performed at least three songs and left stage. MC Kats came back and announced the Didi dada hit maker A Pass Bagonza who excited the masses when he again attempted to mock his nemesis Bebe cool with his bali bakuba jokes and performed at least five songs including Wuuyo, Dididada among others.

A few minutes to 10Pm, rapper Fik Fameika stepped on to stage which left everyone screaming his name and singing along with him. He performed songs like Property, Tonsukuma among others and his energetic performance made the event interesting. Although the majority of the fans who attended this event were whites and Indians, they were heard singing his Luganda songs with joy and fluently. Fameika must be a huge threat to any Ugandan artiste at the moment.

Shortly before Major Lazer showed up on stage, Deejay Jeff from Luanda, Angola was invited on stage and mixed music for at least 30 minutes. His kind of music was completely different from that of Ugandan deejays but again the masses were mesmerized.

After Deejay Jeff, it was now show time for the biggest trio from the USA.

Everything changed. The audience changed. The stage also completely changed and loud screaming surrounded the area after Major Lazer stepping on stage. Walshy Fire in Uganda cranes shirt, Diplo and Jillionaire in white shirts and black pants.

The trio played hundreds of hit songs in which they are involved. These included Pon de floor featuring Jamaica’s Vybz Kartel, watch for this (Bumaye) featuring Busy Signal, The Flexucans, and FS Green, Be together featuring Wild Belle, Jah No partial featuring Pavillion, Hold the line featuring Mr. Lexx and Santigold, Light it up featuring Nyla and Fuse ODG ,Powerful featuring Tarrus Riley and Ellie Goulding, Lean on featuring DJ Snake and MO, and Cold water featuring Justine Bieber among others.
