After Singer Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu winning the Kyandondo East Member of parliament seat in a bloody by election held months ago, many popular singers have come out to see their potential as future successful politicians, these include Eddy Yawe, Chris Evans Kaweesi, Geofrey Lutaaya, Amooti omubalanguzi among others and latest is the ‘Tuli ku bunkenke’ singer Ronald Mayinja of Golden band.
Last year Ronald Mayinja applied at Makerere University and was admitted at the wandegeya based university and he is currently pursuing a bachelors degree in political science which will enable him stand for Gomba East Member of Parliament his home area. Mayinja with Hilderman were seen moving around with Bobi wine during his campaigns and also seen around MP Betty Nambooze during Democratic Party meetings.
When our reporter talked to some of the makerere students normally those who sit around Biez bar where Mayinja usually eats his lunch and reading his books told us that Mayinja is a down to earth man, humble and a person who respects everyone and therefore he will be a good leader if voted by his people.
If Mayinja wins this seat in 2021, he will join fellow artistes Judith Babirye, Bobi wine, Kato Lubwama who are already in parliament.
