Miss World Africa Quiin Abenakyo who doubles as Miss Uganda has combined beauty and brain which is not a very common aspect and attained a degree.
On Thursday January 17th Abenakyo joined other graduands and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Business Computing at Makerere University Business School (MUBS)
A computer science graduate Abenakyo who hails from Mayuge district in Eastern Uganda was the first Ugandan beauty to make it to top five in the Miss World beauty pageant which happened in Saya China last year 2018.
She was recently unveiled as the country’s Good will ambassador by Godfrey Kiwanda Suubi the State minister for Tourism, wildlife and antiquities
Abenakyo is currently in a girl child campaign where she intends to empower girls fighting teenage pregnancies and keep them in school
The four-day graduation which kicked off on Tuesday will see a total of 13,350 students awarded degrees and diplomas of Makerere University in various disciplines. Of these, 56 will receive PhDs, 1,254 Masters Degrees and 101 Postgraduate Diplomas, while 11,939 will receive undergraduate diplomas and Bachelor’s Degrees. 49.7% of the graduands are women and 50.3% are men.
