At last Uganda’s national flag is flying so high after the conclusion of Miss World competitions which were concluded yesterday in Sanya city, China where Uganda’s Quinn Abenakyo was awarded Miss World Africa and among the top five candidates out of the 118 contestants which were involved in the competition.
Abenakyo was crowned miss world Africa after she made it to the top 5 at the world’s running international beauty pageant and this achievement is attributed to unity that was put forward by Ugandans who voted Quinn Abenakyo through the competition.
Quinn Abenakyo was now to battle four other contestants Miss Mexico Vanessa Ponce de Leon (Miss World America), Miss Jamaica Kadija Robinson (Miss World Caribbean), Miss Thailand Nicolene Pichapa (Miss world Asia and Oceania) and Miss Beralus, Maria Vasilevich for the 68thmiss world crown.
But at last on the evening of December 8 2018, Miss Mexico Vanessa Ponce De Leon was announced Miss World. She was crowned by Manushi Chhillar who won miss world competitions in 2017 on stage.
Several individuals have come out to celebrate Abenakyo for selling Uganda to the world, among these include singer Carol Nantongo, former miss Uganda Leah Kagasa who said that God has shown himself strong today and may he continue to increase you it may take a while for a breakthrough but when it comes, it pours like a flood. She said that today history has been made. My beautiful Miss Uganda 2018 Abenakyo Quinn is now Miss world Africa, thank you everyone who voted.
