Kyadondo East Member of parliament Hon. Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi wine is in hot soup after threats from the tax body Uganda Revenue Authority over failure to pay tax arrears amounting to 54 million shillings.
Uganda Revenue Authority has given Robert Kyagulanyi (aka Bobi Wine), seven days to clear tax arrears amounting to Shs 54 million or face jail.
The arrears are in respect to property tax on his buildings: Magere House, One Love Beach at Busabaala and Ssemakokiro building at Kamwokya.
The notice said the arrears have accumulated since 2008.
According to Mr. Ian Rumanyika of URA said that he was still verifying the authenticity of the reports. However, we understand that the MP has had a long running row with URA over the arrears.
