Former FDC president Rtd Col Dr Kizza Besigye, has argued his group the People’s Government to work together with the People Power leader also the Kyadondo East legislator Robert Kyagulanyi common name Bobi Wine.
Speaking before his supporters, Besigye said that the opposition coalition has only one enemy and that’s president Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. This was his first time appearance before his supporters after the two opposition teams declared unity and plans to work together last week.
The opposition strongman however, argued supporters to participate in the fight against Museveni’s bad leadership in this country.
“If at all we are to achieve our goals, we need to work as a team. Let’s fight together in this war, we should not remain quiet when Kyagulanyi’s musical concerts are being blocked.”
Besigye and other FDC top organ made the communication while other FDC’s top organs were meeting FDC Rubaga members at the FDC headquarters in Najjanankumbi.
In the meeting the party top organ also agreed to strengthen party organ right from the grassroots to the top.
Moving out soon after the meeting, police attempted to intercept the FDC’s strongman in a phone interaction.
Kampala metropolitan police, Spokesperson, Patrick Onyango and his deputy Luke Owesigire, expressed lack of knowledge of the deployment.
“Every time when we come to a meeting here, the police are deployed and it stopes everybody getting out of this place. This is very unfortunate, FDC as a party we would like to condemn this act of the police. This actually amounts to an overthrow of democracy,” Patrick Amuriat FDC president said.
