Career and Professional Work Experience

Susan Makula started her career journey as a waitress at Kampala Casino. She subsequently moved to Sway Club and then Pyramid, a Kampala Casino branch.

She then started working at Alpha FM after leaving Pyramid. She didn’t study media at the time, wasn’t a huge admirer of radio, and didn’t aspire to become a radio host. She would be invited and paid for advertisements.

Makula eventually agreed to become a radio host when the management invited her to join the radio station.

She was told to practice what she had learned after six months of instruction while unaware that she was doing it live on television.

She did quite well and started working as an Alpha FM radio host. Makula resigned in 2014.

By that time, Salt FM had already begun. Makula received a call from a Salt FM manager who had previously worked with her at Alpha FM inviting her to join the team there.

She thus joined Salt Media Company as a morning show radio program host.

Makula became one of the three women on “The Junction,” a romance show on Salt TV hosted by Pervin Senkubuge.

Susan also works at Salt FM radio station as the music scheduler.

In addition, she is the happy owner of the eatery that serves food to Bugingo’s enormous congregations at his House of Prayer Ministries, popularly known as Canaan Church, in Makerere Kikoni.

Controversies

Susan Makula claimed that she was under a lot of stress when she was pregnant with her first child, which is why she drank so much beer.

Her son’s face, born with the bone that forms the glabella flat, was nearly distorted by this. However, some side effects have been treated and her son is now better.

In 2019, when Susan Makula and Pastor Bugingo’s relationship came to the limelight, it attracted a lot of negative comments from Ugandans especially the spiritual leaders since he was still married to Teddy Naluswa.
