Early Life 

Prim Asiimwe, full name Prim Asiimwe Aliguma, was born and lived in Masindi.

She was born to a family of seven; six sisters and one brother with origins from Hoima.

Education Background

Prim Asiimwe completed her PLE at Asaba Primary School in Masindi.

She then joined and completed her secondary education at Masindi High School, where she obtained her UCE and UACE. 

After high school, Prim enrolled at Ndejje University but failed to finish her degree because she got pregnant.

However, she later enrolled at Cavendish University, earning a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication and Journalism majoring in Public Relations in 2022.

Marriage / Relationship

Prim Asiimwe is in a relationship with the Comedy store boss Alex Muhangi with whom they have a daughter, Jehu Muhangi who was birthed in 2014.

Prim and Alex Muhangi met in Mbarara in 2012 for the regional tours where Alex was hosting her. They started dating in 2013 up to now.

Career and Professional Work Experience

Following her placement as first runner-up in the Miss Uganda Beauty Pageant 2011, Prim Asiimwe joined Blue Cube Ltd, a mother company to Galaxy FM in 2012. 

As one of the first presenters on Galaxy FM, she co-hosted the evening program “Evening Rush” alongside Mr Ssendi Mosh and Little Joe when the station debuted in 2013.

She has performed in a variety of roles for 100.2 Galaxy FM Zzina. She additionally hosted a weekend countdown program that aired from 3 to 5 p.m. on Saturdays. 

In 2022, Galaxy FM extended an opportunity to her to work as a public relations officer along with her radio presentation duties following her graduation from Cavendish University.

After ten years of employment at Galaxy FM, Prim Asiimwe hosted her final broadcast on April 27, 2023, after announcing her resignation two days prior.

Prim Asiimwe joined NRG Radio Uganda, a division of the Kenyan radio station, in May 2023 after leaving Galaxy FM.

Prim Asiimwe is one of the brand influencers that many major brands, including Jumia and MultiChoice Africa, have signed up for throughout the years.

She was one of the new hires for Swangz Avenue’s influencer and content creator program in August 2021. 

In addition, she assists the underprivileged while working with the Miss Uganda franchise to promote the beauty contest.

Achievements and Awards

Prim Asiimwe became one of Uganda’s most renowned female radio presenters while working as a host at Galaxy FM.

Prim competed in the 2011 Miss Uganda beauty pageant and won Miss Popularity and First Runner-Up positions.

Controversies

Social media users once spread rumours about Crysto Panda and Prim being together. Prim, however, denied these rumours by declaring that she had never slept with Panda.

Suudi, an event promoter, once publicly addressed how much he loved Prim. 

He did this via his social media accounts causing Suudi and Alex to get into a verbal altercation that resulted in Suudi telling Alex he couldn’t place a ring on Prim’s finger.

When images from a Kukyala ceremony surfaced, fans’ interest sparked rumours about a possible romance between Prim and A Pass.

A Pass clarified the situation by stating that the pictures that were being circulated were from a video shoot for his next song. It later turned out that they had taken the photos at a mutual friend’s Kukyala. 

Additionally, Alex Muhangi mentioned that Prim and himself were in a private relationship, which had allowed them to thrive in their many ventures out of the spotlight.
