Activities at Murchison Falls Bamboo Village

You can book some fun safari activities at Murchison Falls Bamboo Village. Most of these are within Murchison Falls National Park. For example:

Birding

With over 451 species of birds, Murchison Falls National Park is one of the top locations in Uganda for birding

The finest opportunities to watch birds at Murchison Falls are game drives, nature walks across savannah grasslands, and boat excursions along the Nile and Lake Albert Delta.

Silver birds, blue-napped mousebirds, and weavers can be observed in the dry thorn bushes near Paraa and Red chilli. Nightjars and other nocturnal birds can be viewed along the Paraa road and when sailing on the Nile.

During a Nile trip, numerous additional species of birds might be sighted.

For the greatest birding experience, you should bring binoculars, sunglasses, caps, a birding handbook, sturdy shoes, a pointer, and enough water.

Game drive

You may see animals like Jackson’s hartebeest, elephants, bushbucks, and lions clearly on the morning, afternoon, and night game drives in a 4×4 vehicle with a pop-up roof. Predators like hyenas and leopards, before they go to their burrows, may be spotted on the morning game drive.

You can see leopards, bush babies, genets, hyenas, civets, porcupines, lions, and many other nocturnal animals during a game drive at Murchison Falls National Park at night.

At Bamboo Village, there is an opportunity to hire vehicles for a thrilling game drive experience.

Boat cruise to the bottom of the falls

Murchison Falls national park offers boat safaris on the Victoria Nile as it approaches the falls for a cruise to the falls’ base. The Nile boat safari is the pinnacle of water, wildlife, and scenic encounters.

You may encounter water-dwelling or semi-water-dwelling creatures like crocodiles, hippos, and monitor lizards in this area.

During this excursion, the possibility of seeing a waterfall is high. One may, however, rent a boat and travel at their leisure.

The morning launch cruise begins at 9:00 a.m. while the afternoon one starts at 2:00 p.m. Those most interested in bird watching should take the boat excursion to the delta, where fishing shoebills can be viewed.

Sport fishing

During a Uganda safari, sport fishing is another enjoyable activity at Murchison Falls National Park. You can catch Nile Perch, Tiger Species, Catfish, Nile Tilapia, and other fish at the base of the falls.

You get to keep the fish you catch as a reward for participating in the activity.

During the activity, you will have the opportunity to observe Blue Quails, Lesser and Great Swamp Warblers, Common Squacco, White-headed and Black-billed Barbet, Greenwood Hoopoe, Blue-breasted Shining-blue Kingfishers, Striated, and Black-headed Herons, as well as numerous other bird and animal species.

On the coastlines and riverbanks, you may also observe kingfishers and other creatures satisfying their thirst.

Nature walks

Hiking in the park’s Kaniyo Pabidi and Rabongo woods, where you can see primates such as red-tailed monkeys and silver monkeys, is one of the most remarkable things to do in Murchison Falls National Park.

There will also be numerous species of birds, such as the grasshopper buzzard, the booted eagle, and the crested barbet.

Live music performances

The Alur people and Acholi who are natives of the area are often called upon to perform live music and dances in the evenings at Bamboo Village. This is usually an exciting activity for the guests.
