Gerald Paul Kasaato graduated from Oxford Brookes University in the United Kingdom with a Bachelor of Science with Honours (Bsc Hons) in Accounting.

He has an MBA in Finance from Exeter University in the United Kingdom, as well as a Master of Science Degree in International Finance and Investments from London Southbank University in the United Kingdom.

Gerald is a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute (FCMI) UK, a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU), and a CFA Charter holder.

He also attended Harvard Business School in the United States.

He is an Aresty scholar of the Wharton Executive Programme at the University of Pennsylvania (USA), as well as a graduate of the London Business School and a qualified accountant in the United Kingdom.

Gerald has also participated in the CEO Apprentice Programme (Uganda) in collaboration with Strathmore Business School in Kenya.

He enjoys travelling, good debates, and sports such as Formula One, football, rugby, and tennis.

Career and Professional Work Experience

Gerald Paul Kasaato began his career with Phillips, Kobbs & Co. Ltd. as an Associate of Tax & Audit. 

He joined the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) Uganda as a Portfolio Manager of Equities in July 2011 and quickly ascended through the ranks to become Chief Investment Officer.

Gerald has been the NSSF’s Chief Investment Officer since January 2015.

He previously worked as Finance and Investment Manager (National Housing and Construction Company) and as Manager of Investment and Treasury (NIC), as well as in numerous other UK businesses.

Gerald is an expert in investment and portfolio management, corporate and international finance, risk management, financial reporting, accounting, and taxation, as well as strategy development and implementation. 

He also possesses expertise in people management, operations management, financial economics, sales and marketing, project management, property management, and compliance and governance.

Gerald serves as Vice Chairperson and Non-Executive Director of the Eastern and Southern African Trade and Development Bank (TDB), a development finance organisation in Africa.

He is also on the Audit Committee of CRDB Bank Plc’s Board of Directors.

Achievements and Awards

Gerald Paul Kasaato has over ten years of experience in finance, investment, and equity from previous employment in banking and insurance.

He has been the Chief Investment Officer of the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) for over seven years now.

Gerald Paul Kasaato is also a Director at Yield Fund Uganda, a 20-million-euro agriculture-focused private equity fund, and TPS (Serena Hotel) Uganda Limited.

He received an Msc. degree in International Finance and Investment with distinction from London South Bank University (UK) and was the best-graduating student in that year’s cohort.
