If your Roku Smart TV or streaming stick doesn’t already have a remote, you must first reset it before you can pair your new remote.

Open the battery cover to reset your Roku control. There is a little, circular pairing button there. For about 5 seconds, give it a long press.

An LED light to the left of the pairing button will begin to blink. Your streaming stick or Roku TV should be nearby. It will automatically begin the pairing procedure.

The pairing of your remote with your Roku TV will be authenticated by an animation on your TV a few seconds later. Your Roku TV’s remote control is now functional.

Another option is to pair a Roku device that has already been configured. In this situation, you can access Settings using an existing Roku remote or, if your Roku device has previously been configured with the Roku Mobile App, by using the app.

Pressing the Home key on your previous or current remote will take you to Settings on the Roku TV, where you may select Remotes & devices, Setup a new device, and then Remote.

Check that your remote’s batteries are in good condition, then click Continue.

If you have a new remote, your Roku TV will begin attempting to find it. Open the battery cover, and press the pairing button repeatedly for around 5 seconds, or until the status LED light blinks, to enter pairing mode for your new remote. By now, your remote and TV should be connected.

Also, you may need to buy a new Roku remote if the methods above don’t work and you’ve already tried changing the batteries.
