He transitioned to public relations and corporate communications, building a reputation for managing the public image of large institutions.
In February 2012, Kalumba joined Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA), under the organization’s first Executive Director, Jennifer Musisi as the Communications and Media relations officer.
During his tenure at KCCA, he also served as the deputy spokesperson and publicly championed and defended the authority’s policies and key programs.
In May 2024, Robert Kalumba was appointed Public & Corporate Affairs Manager at URA.
In this role, he leads URA’s communications department, responsible for shaping public relations, stakeholder engagement, and promoting the Authority’s mission and values.
