Controversies

In September 2020, unknown individuals assaulted Eng. Abigaba Cuthbert Mirembe, his wife Doreen Abigaba, and their driver Steadet Ayebale when the three were driving to Health Center 111 to check on Mirembe’s agent Francis Tuhaise, who had been stabbed in the chest with a sharp object by a group of goons.

Mirembe accused his closest rival Eng. Musiime’s supporters of committing these crimes. “These are supporters of my opponent, and I know some of them very well,” Mirembe said over the phone with Uganda Radio Network – URN.

Musiime, on the other hand, has detached himself and his supporters from the action. He claims the incumbent is attempting to tarnish his political image ahead of today’s party primary elections.
