Asiimwe Musiime Molly is a Ugandan politician and a professional teacher.
She is the current woman representative in the Ugandan parliament for the Rwampara district. Molly is a member of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) political party.
She previously served as secretary in the office of the First Lady and in the eleventh parliament; she serves on the Committee on Education and Sports.
Early Life and Education

Asiimwe Musiime Molly was born in Rushere, Kiruhura District. She is married to Mr Stephen Asiimwe.
Asiimwe Molly went to Rushere Primary School for her primary education and Bweranyangi Secondary School for her secondary studies. She served as a Head Girl at both schools.
In 1991, Molly joined Makerere University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree specializing in languages and literature.
She also went ahead to acquire a Post-Graduate Diploma in Education.
Asiimwe Musiime Molly also has a Master’s Degree in Organizational Leadership and Management (MAOL) from the Development Associates International (DAI) in the US but was awarded at UCU in Mukono.
She also has Post graduate training and certifications in Procurement, Human Resources, Finance and other fields.
Career and Professional Work Experience
As a teacher, Molly taught at Gayaza High School and Makerere College School after getting her degree in Education.
She then quit teaching and moved on to work with Danida Projects which funds third World schools as a project manager.
Asiimwe Molly worked with URA and NUSAF and she was later appointed Executive Assistant to the First Lady which is the equivalent of the Principal Private Secretary (PPS) of the First Lady.
In 2020, Asiimwe Molly contested for the Rwampara woman Member of Parliament seat on the NRM ticket.
In the NRM Party primaries with three other NRM candidates; Annah Kansiime, Peace Muhingirwoha the then incumbent Woman Member of Parliament for Mukono district and Kirabo Esther Kafeete, Asiimwe Molly emerged victorious.
In the 2021 General elections, she garnered 22,782 votes and won the election over her opponent Kansiime Annah who ran as an independent after losing in the NRM Primaries and ended up garnering 17,788 votes.
She was appointed to work on the Committee of Education and Sports (May 2021 – May 2026).
Achievements and Awards

Asiimwe Musiime Molly is the first Woman Member of Parliament of the newly created Rwampara district.
In a report published in January 2022 by the Ankole Political Activists Club (APAC), a research group in western Uganda, Hon. Asiimwe Musiime was named the best-performing legislator among the 12 district women legislators from the Ankole subregion.
Hon. Molly Asiimwe also spearheaded the fundraising towards a new maternity ward at Kinoni Health Centre IV to improve the health of mothers in Rwampara County.
Controversies
As the voting day for the NRM primaries in 2020 grew nearer, many voters and political candidates running for various seats in the Rwampara area expressed their displeasure with the ongoing deployment of alleged security officers aiming to frighten voters.
It was claimed that Molly Asiimwe was responsible for all of the security personnel deployments and voter intimidation.
The High Court in Mbarara dismissed a case on October 7, 2020, that attempted to prevent Molly Asimwe from being selected as the NRM candidate for the position of a woman member of parliament for the Rwampara district.
The High Court presided over by Deputy Registrar Samuel Twakire, dismissed the injunction Annah Kansiime had filed to challenge Molly Asimwe’s victory.
Samuel Twakire ruled that Annah’s petition was dismissed because there was insufficient evidence to support it.
