Controversies

In September 2011, two patients died at Mulago Hospital in what the media called a ‘septic tank’ the report.

It was said that Hon. Atwijukire had cautioned patients from being around unsafe places in the Hospital. A journalist went on to refer to him as a ‘disgrace’ to which he said he was innocent.

He said, when the reporter visited his office, she had wanted to take pictures of the manholes but he was busy and so did not give her his full attention.

He told her that it could have been a suicide since the two manholes were at the extreme corner of the hospital and out of reach.
