Charles Mugerwa is a businessman in Uganda.
Mugerwa is the founder of In-Line Print Services Limited formerly known as Multi Technical Company.
Early Life and Education
Charles Mugerwa was born in 1984 in Uganda.
Mugerwa’s father died when he was in primary school in the late 1980s.
Mugerwa looked up to his uncle, a lorry driver when he was growing up. However, the circumstances in which he grew up shaped him into the man he has become.
David Katende, his friend and former boss taught him managerial skills as well as more printing knowledge. He also recognises James Lubega, who donated him Shs 3.6m to cover some important bills when he was just starting out.
Career and Professional Work Experience

Mugerwa began working as a technician for Picfare Industries in 1999 after completing his industrial training.
He had worked there for a couple of months before being retained as a technician for a year. He worked as he attended classes and when Picfare relocated to Jinja, he was forced to earn a living elsewhere.
Mugerwa then worked as an electrician at Graphic Systems in the Luzira industrial area. He worked for Graphic Systems for three years before leaving to work for Intersoft Business, which was also a printing company on Nasser Road.
While working with Intersoft, he registered Multi Technical Services as a sole proprietorship in 2003.
In 2006, he informed his boss at the time, David Katende, that he was leaving the company. Katende accepted the decision and they later became business partners.
Mugerwa formed Multi Technical Services as a limited company in the same year. Initially, he collaborated with a technician friend, William Sserwanga. After three to four years, the two had risen to the ranks of the best technicians on Nkrumah Road.
He had saved enough money while working for Intersoft to purchase property, a pickup truck, and a piggery farm. He ultimately traded the piggery for Shs 15 million and applied for a Shs 15 million loan from Orient Bank to launch his business. He was thus able to buy a machine at Shs 28m.
Mugerwa then changed the name of his company to In-Line Print Services Limited in 2007. He began by working alone. However, as the company grew, he began to hire more employees. The workload grew over time, necessitating the hiring of more people.
In-Line Print Services currently employs 47 people on a full-time basis. More than 50 employees are on a temporary basis. Teams from the creative department, marketing and sales, printers, administration, accounts, and delivery team make up the staff. He recently established a public relations department.
