Daniel Kaluuya brings the second time premiere of ‘Queen and Slim’ movie in Uganda on Valentine’s Day at Kingdom Kampala.

Talented British actor and writer of a Ugandan descent Daniel Kaluuya who has gained international fame with his starring role in horror film Get Out before joining Marvel Cinematic film Black Panther and Steve McQueen thriller widows will be premiering his movie Queen and Slim for the second time at Kingdom Kampala-Uganda on the Valentine’s Day (14 February 2020).

His first premiere took place in the United States previous November at the American Film Institute Festival. As he promised in an interview in 2019, Daniel will be coming back to his homeland and revealed how much he yearned to package something for his motherland, Uganda.

“The Queen and Slim were premiered at the American Film Institute last year and I thought I would also bring it to Ugandan people, “stated Daniel Kaluuya.

According to him, this event will be an invite-only on the red carpet since the organizers of the premier only reserved 100 tickets that will be sold to those who will meet the condition, first come first serve.

Who is Daniel Kaluuya?

He was born in London to Ugandan parents on 24 February 1989 and raised by his mother Damalie on a council estate in Kentish Town along with an older sister. Daniel’s father lived in Uganda because of the UK visa regulations so he rarely visited the family.

Daniel Kaluuya is an English actor and writer who was nominated for the Golden Globe Award, Academy Award, BAFTA Award and Screen Actors Guild Award for his Best Actor for his leading role as Chris Washington in 2017 horror film Get Out.

Daniel Kaluuya won the BAFTA Rising Star Award in 2018 and he began his career as a teenager in improvisational theatre. Kaluuya afterwards appeared in the first two seasons of the British Television series Skins where he co-wrote some of the episodes.

While taking the main role in Sucker Punch at Royal Court Theatre in London, he won rave reviews for his performance and also scooped both the Evening Standard Award and Critics’ Circle Theatre Award for the Outstanding Newcomer.

Daniel Kaluuya was further praised for his performance as Bingham “Bing” Madsen in the Black Mirror episode “Fifteen Million Merits.”

Kaluuya also played Michael “Tealeaf” fry in BBC dark comedy series Psychoville and Michael “Mac” Armstrong in BBC Three horror drama series The Fades.

He acted as Agent Collin Tucker in 2011 film Johnny English Reborn and showed Black Death in the 2013 film Kick-Ass 2. Daniel had a supporting role in Denis Villeneuve’s film Sicario in 2015 and also depicted W’Kabi in Ryan Cooler’s blockbuster film Black Panther and appeared in Steve McQueen’s heist film Widows.
