Elvis Sekyanzi was born in 1975 in Uganda to Gordon Wavamunno (father) who is a Ugandan millionaire and entrepreneur.
He married Julie Bataringaya in 1997 and the couple has three sons.

Career and Professional Work Experience
When Elvis Sekyanzi returned from the United Kingdom after finishing his education, he began by repairing broken radios and other electronic devices.
He eventually purchased musical instruments and began performing at parties and other gatherings, where he made his first million.
Sekyanzi is currently the owner of several entertainment-related businesses.
He formerly owned the famously known nightclub, Club Silk.
Club Silk first opened its doors in 1994. It was the first of its sort, at least in the classic discotheque market.
Silk began to struggle greatly in 2015 after one of Ssekyanzi’s shareholders, Kavuma, withdrew his assets. He had no choice but to close the shop and sell the premises to Vision Group in 2016. Ssekyanzi launched Liquid Silk in Bugolobi and Naalya after shutting down Silk in the industrial sector. Both clubs have since then also closed their doors.
In 2009, he opened a branch of Club Silk in London, England near Thornton Heath in Croydon East.
Elvis Sekyanzi also owns Silk Events, an entertainment management company with offices in Uganda and Rwanda. He opened a Silk Events branch in Rwanda in 2010.
Sekyanzi also works as a director and manager for some of his father’s businesses, such as WBS Television, Wavah Water, and Radio Simba.
Achievements and Awards

Elvis Sekyanzi is one of the few sons of Uganda’s wealthiest tycoons to have risen above his father’s shadow.
Sekyanzi worked for Tumpeco Company and developed the new licence plates that are currently in use in Uganda.
He co-founded Club Silk with Aga Sekalala Jnr. Sekyanzi’s net worth was estimated to be around $8 million in 2012.
Controversies

Elvis Sekyanzi was reportedly imprisoned in Luzira in July 2022 for failing to repay debts of USD 230,000 (about USh830 million) and USh31 million.
The arrest followed the filing of Civil Suit No. 225 of 2016 by creditor Mash Investments Limited, which accused Sekyanzi and Silk Liquid of failing to refund USD230,661 and USh31,800,000.
The Commercial Court issued an arrest warrant against Sekyanzi in December 2021 after he failed to comply with the Court ruling that ordered him in February 2021 to pay Mash Investments Limited the aforementioned amounts, as well as an undisclosed amount of money for the cost of carrying out the process.
He was released after his father, Gordon Wavamunno, paid a portion of the money agreed upon in a consent submitted to the Deputy Registrar, Juliet Harty Hatanga after he had spent a week at Luzira prison.
According to the consent, Wavamunno and Mash Investment agreed to reduce the debt to USh400 million from USh860 million in the final settlement of the debt, including costs.
Sekaynzi’s father, tycoon Wavamunno, thus paid USh250 million and promised to pay the balance, USh150 million, in three months on his son’s behalf.
In 2016, Sekyanzi reportedly and cunningly made one of Kampala’s lawyers and city entrepreneurs part with close to Ushs500 million for shares that did not exist.
John Masette is the lawyer with whom Elvis is said to have gone on a wild goose chase. Masette works for Barenzi and Company Advocates.
Elvis is said to have made nearly $500 million by simply telling Masette that he would sell him a 25% stake in the high-end Silk Liquid club, Bugoloobi.
After verifying with the registrar of companies and discovering that the company known as Liquid Silk isn’t listed anywhere in the company registry, the lawyer took legal action to recover the money he lost by purchasing shares in a non-existent company.
Masette filed a lawsuit in the High Court’s Commercial Division, demanding that Elvis refund his money with interest and extra money for breaching the contract he entered into with him.
