Frank Senteza has been among the personal security bodyguards guarding the National Unity Platform presidential candidate Kyagulanyi Ssentamu.

As the family, friends and the supporters of the National Unity Platform continue to mourn the death of a young man called Frank Senteza who was knocked down by a military vehicle on Sunday afternoon and was pronounced dead on reaching Lubaga Hospital.

Frank has been among the personal security bodyguards guarding the National Unity Platform presidential candidate Kyagulanyi Ssentamu and according to the records he was born in Masaka and after completing his O-level studies at St. Anthony Kayunga SS in Masaka he headed for Kampala because his parents never had money to push him further in education.

When he came to Kampala his destination was Kalerwe where he staged and became a carpenter. His friend Abby Mutebi says they started as carpenters and later they turned out to be more like brothers.

“We started small and at first we where carpenters but later our relationship grew and we turned out to be brothers because people said we used to resemble a lot,” Abby said.

Eddy Sebuffu commonly known as Eddie Mutwe says Frank has been the most disciplined bodyguard and has been a quiet person.

“Frank has been very quiet even during the scuffles we are involved in Frank still remained calm and he didn’t involve himself in the confrontations with the security organs. He has been the most disciplined member among the members of the team,” Mutwe said.

A fellow bouncer known as Kyuma Kya Yesu said that Frank believed in the struggle and he could share his excitement of how they were going to enjoy in the new Uganda. Friends say on that fateful day frank spent the day sleeping although he wasn’t sick.

Yesterday the NUP presidential candidate showed a medical scan from Lubaga which showed how fractured Frank’s skull was and the doctor could do less to save him.

According to the relatives, police wants to come and exhume Frank’s body saying they don’t believe in the postmortem report from Lubaga Hospital.

Relatives say they will not allow that and police should leave the deceased to rest in peace. Frank has joined the list of NUP’s supporters who have been victims of police brutality and yesterday another bodyguard Ashiraf Seremba was knocked by an anonymous vehicle that was trailing him.
