Frederick Ngobi Gume is a Ugandan politician. In the 11th Ugandan Cabinet, he is the State Minister of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives. He was appointed to the position on June 6, 2016.

Hon. Gume is also the representative for Bulamogi North West County, Kaliro district in the 11th Parliament and a member of the National Resistance Movement (NRM).

Early Life and Education

Hon. Gume Fredrick Ngobi is an Anglican who was born on June 26, 1963.

He graduated from Makerere University with a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences and holds a Diploma in Accounting and Management from New Jersey College UK.

Career and Professional Work Experience

Frederick Ngobi Gume was elected as the LCV Chairman of Jinja District in 2002. He succeeded the late Mr Sam Muwumba and ended up holding the office for ten years. 

In the 2016 General elections, he contested the Member of Parliament position for Bulamogi North West County and emerged victorious. He has since held the office even in the 11th Parliament.

On June 6, 2016, Hon. Frederick Ngobi Gume was also appointed as the State Minister of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives by His Excellence Kaguta Museveni. He has since remained in the same role.

Achievements and Awards

He has provided seeds for agriculture, aided with the drilling of boreholes to improve access to clean water, and provided chairs and tents for various events as part of his own projects.

The completion of a Kigezi Growers Cooperative Union commercial building in Rukungiri Municipality’s Rukungiri region was overseen by Minister of State for Cooperatives Gume Ngobi Fredrick.
