Career and Professional Work Experience
Joyce Kasirye serves as the Director of Human Resources & Administration at Uganda Communications Commission, having been appointed to the position in January 2019.
Before this appointment, she had still been working at UCC as the Manager of Human Resources, a position she held from June 2014 to December 2018.
In her current role as a Director, she is responsible for guiding the HR function, personnel management, administrative oversight, and ensuring the Commission’s workforce operates effectively.
Before joining UCC, Kasirye worked for several other companies, including National Social Security Fund, Uganda (NSSF) and IPS Group (Kenya). These roles highly contributed to building her regional exposure and HR administrative experience.
At the National Social Security Fund, she served as the Employee Relations Manager from October 2010 to September 2013 and was promoted to the Human Resources Business Manager position, where she served from October 2013 to May 2014.
While serving in the above roles at NSSF, Kasirye was able to gain multiple skills from the different responsibilities she held, such as Employee & Industrial Relations, HR Administration, Staff Welfare and Recruitment.
From October 2008 to June 2010, Joyce Kasirye served as the Human Resources Manager at Premier Food Industries Limited in Nairobi. Here, she was involved in Administration, collective bargaining, maintaining HR Policies and employee relations, recruitment, and upholding labour and Employment Laws.
She started her Human Resources career path as the HR Officer at Alltex EPZ Ltd (IPS Group) in Nairobi. Before that, she had been an Administrator at Supreme Furnishers Uganda, where she was in charge of personnel and administration.
