From Sheema, Robert Kyagulanyi headed to Bushenyi where he promised to restore term limits and age limits which were removed by President Museveni.

Kyagulanyi Ssentamu started his campaign in Sheema district amidst teargas and rubber bullets that were used to disperse Kyagulanyi supporters that had gathered to welcome him.

While speaking in Sheema alongside his wife Barbie Itungo, Mr Kyagulanyi promised to flash out the corruption that has become a culture in our nation.

He said that the government of President Yoweri Museveni had promised to fight corruption when coming in power but it has failed to fight it.

“He said he was going to fight corruption but you see how big corruption has become and the worst thing is people in other regions think that when people in the government of Museveni steal they bring the wealth in this region,” Kyagulanyi said.

From Sheema, Kyagulanyi headed to Bushenyi where he promised to restore term limits and age limits which were removed by president Museveni. He still promised the people of Bushenyi to be a servant president, not your boss.

“You’re going to get a president who is going to restore your term limits, age limits and constitutionalism,” Kyagulanyi added.

Uganda has ever had term limits which were scraped off by the government of President Museveni in 2005 and this gave president Museveni leeway to stand in the 2006 elections which he won.

Kyagulanyi now says there will only be two terms for president starting from 2021 going forward.

“You shall not see any president that exceeds two terms in office and the vote you’re going to give us you would have restored the cooperatives,” kyagulanyi said.

Kyagulanyi ended the day in Rubirizi and Buhejju which are regions of the greater Kigezi region and today he will be taking his campaign message in the Mbarara district together with his wife.

This week’s campaigns have been generally peaceful and we have not seen running battles with the police.
