After days without campaigning the National Unity Platform presidential candidate Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi wine is to resume his campaigns in Kalangala district

Kyagulanyi had stopped his campaigns after one of his bodyguards Frank Senteza was reportedly knocked by a police-military vehicle and died on reaching Lubaga Hospital.

During the press conference held at the NUP headquarters at Kamwokya, kyagulanyi said he was going to return to the campaign trail although the Electoral Commission had banned political gatherings and campaigns in some districts due to the spiking COVID cases in the listed districts.

However, kyagulanyi made it clear that he is going to continue with his campaigns and he is going to meet the people in all districts he has not campaigned in although Kalangala is not among the districts affected by the ban.

“We are coming to you the people of Uganda scientifically, technologically and physically. The people of Kalangala get ready we are coming to you and after we shall go back to Bukomansibi and Lwengo,” kyagulanyi said.

Kyagulanyi also attacked the Uganda Police Force and its Spokesman Fred Enanga for lying to the public about the cause of death of his bodyguard.

Earlier on the police and the army had refuted these claims saying that Frank had fallen off a speeding vehicle but he wasn’t knocked as the NUP supporters claim.

“We have proof that Frank was knocked down by a military vehicle and if they say that we are laying let police produce the footage,” kyagulanyi added.

Bobi wine assured his supporters that they were not about to give up and the death of Frank just made them stronger to soldier on until they see a better Uganda.

“I can assure you Museveni and your friends that we are not giving up and we are going to fight to be free or we shall die trying,” kyagulanyi added.

It’s in this press brief that kyagulanyi gave an update on Ashraf Kasirye a journalist who was hit with a rubber bullet on the head and currently is in Lubaga Hospital. Kyagulanyi said Ashraf had a successful operation but he is still in a comma and he will in that state for weeks according to the doctors.
