Her father had a total of four wives, and Manuela’s mother was the fourth. Manuela is the eldest of her mother’s three children, but the seventh of her father’s ten.

Pacutho’s father, Joe Pacutho, is an Alur from West Nile Uganda, and her mother, Agnes Ruteitsire, is a Munyankore. Her father was a warden at Makerere University’s Nsibirwa Hall, while her mother worked at the Link Marketing Board in Kampala.

She began her education at Nakasero Nursery. She subsequently went to Kitante Primary School, where she completed her Primary Leaving Exams. Her parents had already divorced by that time.

She then went to Our Lady of Good Counsel Gayaza for her O-level studies, which her mother could afford. She performed admirably and received a scholarship from the Forum for African Women Educationalists (FAWE) Uganda while there.

After that, she was accepted to King’s College Budo for A-levels while still performing well on the FAWE scholarship.

Manuela earned a Bachelor of Science in Statistics, Psychology, and Mathematics from Makerere University on a government scholarship from 2005 to 2008. She obtained a Second Class Upper Honours degree.

She joined the Chartered Institute of Marketing in 2012 and graduated with a Professional Certificate in Marketing in 2017.

Pacutho met and began dating media personality Brian Mulondo of the Tricksters during their freshman year of college in 2005. They met in Nairobi on a Christian mission trip.

The couple married on February 27, 2012, at Watoto Church and have two children; Blake Mulondo and Bianca Zerlinda Mulondo.

Career and Professional Work Experience

From January 2008 to January 2009, Manuela Pacutho Mulondo worked as a Marketing Assistant for People Performance Group, a human resource consulting firm in Kampala, Uganda.

From January 2008 to April 2012, she worked as the Creative Director in the Children’s Ministry at Watoto Church.

She competed in the Business Apprenticeship Entrepreneurship Competition Africa conducted by Inspire Africa in 2012. She finished as the second runner-up.

To enter the competition, contestants were required to pitch a business plan that would contribute to the eradication of poverty in East Africa. Manuela’s vision was to construct a school that would teach children practical skills.

Throughout the tournament, she thoroughly pitched her proposal, winning millions of fans. Ultimately, two people, including Amos Wekesa, donated her money to put her plan into action.

Her interest in children and practical education was heightened when she was given the opportunity to work with R.A.I.S.E, a local NGO that promotes literacy and youth empowerment.

Pacutho joined Bank of Africa Uganda as a brand manager in April 2012, a journey she largely attributes to Inspire Africa. She held that position till April of 2014.

She was then elevated to Assistant Manager Marketing and Communications at Bank of Africa, a position she held from April 2014 to January 2016, before being promoted to Manager Marketing and Communications.

She served as Manager from January to June 2016, after which she resigned to focus on her private business.

Pacutho established The Cradle, a 24-hour infant care facility, in June 2014. It intended to provide a supportive, caring, and safe atmosphere for quality child care and education for infants and toddlers aged zero to six years.

However, in February 2021, the Ministry of Education announced the indefinite shutdown of pre-schools as a safety precaution against COVID-19.

After the economy reopened in December 2021, she reopened The Cradle in January 2022, and 5 months later, she had two branches, each generating a profit and saving.

As the CEO of a start-up, her responsibilities include marketing, product development, finance, operations, and support.
