Early Life
Pastor Jackson Ssenyonga was born in Kittuntu, Uganda allegedly in 1967. However, his actual birth date or year largely remains unknown since no one wrote it down.
His father was a coffee grower who was always busy on his coffee plantation.
Born as a fragile baby, his mother didn’t think he would live. She abandoned him at three months old and left him to die with his aunt, who offered to look after him in what they considered to be his final days.
However, Ssenyonga survived and grew up to become a healthy boy.
He experienced the turmoil and war during the Idi Amin regime as a teenager. His father was killed and his body was found after five days leaving Ssenyonga as an orphan.
Amidst suicide contemplations, Ssenyonga’s brother, Paul, brought him the good news of his acceptance at Kampala Secondary School which was a ray of hope and joy.
He completed his O-level studies here obtaining his Uganda Certificate of Education.

Family Life
Pastor Ssenyonga is wedded to Eve Ssenyonga and the couple has been together for over two decades.
They have three children; Elizabeth Ssenyonga, Joshua Ssenyonga, and Jackie Ssenyonga.
In a customary ceremony in 2022, their daughter Jackie Ssenyonga introduced her fiancé, Aaron Muyimba.
She followed the eldest son, Joshua Daniel Ssenyonga who got married to his lover Joanne Luwagga on 21 October 2021. This was after their return from the United States in 2018 where they met each other.
Pastor Joshua Ssenyonga leads the youth ministry at Christian Life Church and also preaches in the main church.
Career and Professional Work Experience
Ssenyonga’s friend Moses, whom he met at Kampala Secondary School, introduced him to the Redeemed Church of Christ, where he accepted Jesus Christ as his saviour.
In 1995, after serving under his pastor for a while, Pastor Jackson Ssenyonga heard from God, “Move to the capital city of Uganda and start a church, I will use your obedience to touch the city, nation and beyond.”
After he heard this, he and his wife, Pastor Eve engaged in an intense prayer and fasting season. After consulting with their pastor and receiving his approval, they moved to Kampala with seven other persons.
They began a 30-day outdoor crusade in Kampala, preaching the gospel to anybody who would listen.
In 1998, Pastor Ssenyonga founded Christian Life Ministries with seven of his coworkers who were also born again.
In just two weeks, Christian Life Church expanded from 7 members to 2,000. And it became the home church for 7,000 people in less than a year.
Today, the Christian Life Church boasts over 40,000 members and 25,000 weekly attendees. It has planted over 1,000 churches in four African countries and is still expanding.
Ssenyonga has become a messenger of God’s word and a symbol of hope to people throughout Uganda and its neighbouring countries.
He also operates the ministry in the United States with offices in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, Texas.
Pastor Ssenyonga is the organizer of the annual National Celebrations that happens every 31 December in Uganda.

Controversies
In 2008, Ssenyonga was accused of fondling a thirteen-year-old girl sitting beside him on the Denver to Oakland aircraft.
He was taken into custody by Oakland police once the plane touched down, interrogated, and eventually freed on bond.
He was later informed that after reviewing the police report, they decided not to press charges at that time.
Pastor Jackson Ssenyonga has been embroiled in verbal fights with some Ugandan pastors whom he has labelled as false prophets.
These pastors include Pastor Aloysius Bugingo of House of Prayer Ministries, the late Pastor Augustine Yiga, Prophet Samuel Kakande, Brother Ronnie Makabai, and others.
Ssenyonga has been leading the charge in exposing and preaching against false prophets who purposefully distort the Bible to deceive their followers so that they can further their ill-intentioned agenda.
Following Pastor Yiga’s passing, Pastor Ssenyonga denounced in a press conference some of the actions he had taken while still alive.
After certain pastors in the upcountry filed many criminal complaints against him purportedly for his immoral actions in June 2023, Pastor Jackson SSsenyonga was allegedly in a state of extreme nervousness.
