Online Payments in Uganda Using PayPal

1. Create a PayPal Account

The first step to using PayPal in Uganda is creating a PayPal account. Go to the PayPal website (www.paypal.com) and click on “Sign Up.”

Choose “Personal Account” and click “Next.” Fill in your email address, create a strong password, and provide your personal information.

Click “Agree and Create Account” after reviewing and accepting PayPal’s terms and policies. Verify your email address by clicking on the link sent to your email.

To send and receive money with PayPal in Uganda, you need to link a debit card or bank account.

Log in to your PayPal account. Click on “Wallet” in the top menu. Select “Link a Debit or Credit Card” or “Link a Bank Account.” 

Follow the prompts to add your card or bank account information.

3. Verify Your PayPal Account

Verifying your PayPal account is crucial for lifting certain limitations. You can verify your account by linking and confirming your bank account or credit/debit card. 

PayPal will make a small deposit and withdrawal to your bank account, which you must confirm on the PayPal website.

Log in to your PayPal account. Click on “Wallet” in the top menu. Select “Transfer Money.” Choose how you’d like to add money to your account.
