Who is Rachael Mwine? Rachael Mwine is a Ugandan journalist, news anchor, moderator, and media personality.

She previously worked for NTV Uganda as a news anchor and the host of My World, a show about female mentorship in the business sector.

She is also one of the co-creators and co-hosts of the TV and web series Bump Love, which centres conversations on maternity and parenting.

Early Life and Education

Rachael Mwine also known as Rachael Arinaitwe Tibarokoka Mwine was born on 17 December 1983 to Lilian and Clement Tibarikoka, a politician who is now a retired pastor.

Rachael is the second of four children. She has two sisters and a brother who is their last born. She was born and raised in a Christian home in Najjanankumbi, Uganda, before moving to Kyebando.

She also grew up praying from Deliverance Church which is now located in Makerere.

Rachael started her formal education at Joy Primary School which was located in Nakasero back then before they transferred it to Makerere. 

She then joined Gayaza High School for her O-levels and Migadde College for her A-level studies. 

She first aspired to be an air hostess as a youngster, then a lawyer, and after finishing her O-levels, her interest in journalism began to expand.

She thus went to Uganda Christian University and majored in public relations while studying mass communication.

Rachael has been wedded to radio host Benjamin Mwine since September 28, 2013. They have two children with Rachael being the biological mother of one of the boys. 

Rachael and Ben met in 2008 at Power FM when she had gone to look for a job and Ben was the station Manager at that time.

Career and Professional Work Experience

After graduating from college, Rachael spent five years working for Power FM Radio from February 2008 to June 2013.

While there, she oversaw the programming department of Uganda’s first English-language FM radio station and was in charge of marketing and promotion to increase audience share among listeners between the ages of 18 and 24.

This included, but was not limited to; managing station events, coaching over 15 staff members, on-air presenting, developing advertisements and features for clients, starting exciting promotions that garnered the most attention, and assisting the marketing department with client presentations and media relations.

Rachael then joined the Nation Media Group (NTV Uganda) where she worked as a reporter, Newscaster, interviewer, and host of the show My World, which focused on women’s mentorship in the business world. 

She resigned on October 25, 2018, after working for seven years and was replaced by Sandra Kahumuza.

The Red Sofa Sessions by Red Enterprises included Rachael as well on March 1, 2018.

Before her six-month contract with Dr Ronnie Mich Egwang, a veterinary surgeon turned television personality and marketing guru could expire, an opportunity presented itself.

In July 2018, Rachael joined Andela Uganda, a training and placement firm for software professionals.  

From October 2018 to July 2019, she was the Team and Professional Skills facilitator at Andela. She was then promoted to the Human Resources Business Partner position from July 2019 to May 2020. 

Rachael also performs voiceovers. Through voice-over artistry, she amplifies brand messaging using her voice.

Rachael Mwine is an enthusiastic communications professional with over ten years of experience in radio and television at Power FM and NTV Uganda.
