What to do when your Absa ATM or VISA credit card goes missing
For whichever reason you may not be able to find your Absa ATM card, the bank can have a replacement card made for you in a short time. However, before a new card is issued to you, they’re a few things you must do and they include the following;
Freezing or turning off your ATM card
You can do this by contacting their call center on 0800 222 333 toll-free or +256 312 218 347 and reporting to them that your card has either been stolen or is lost.
This provides you some time to search for it while avoiding any fraudulent charges. And, it can be, restarted if you discover it.
Report any unauthorized transactions
Make a note of the specifics and promptly check your account for any fraudulent activities. Then inform the bank about them.
Requirements for replacing your Absa ATM card
To have a new card replacement you are required to visit your nearest Absa bank branch. The process to replace only takes 10 minutes and you can walk out with your new card.
Besides this, you will also need to carry with you
- A valid National Identity Card (passport/national ID/driver’s license)
- Plus replacement card fees. These fees depend on the type of account you have and they are as follows;
