Early Life and Education
Samuel Mukasa Biyinzika was born to the late Rev. Canon Nathaniel and Dinah Mukasa of Nantabulirirwa, Seeta-Mukono.
He began formal education at Ntinda Primary School and then proceeded to St. Mary’s Kisubi for his secondary education.
He then left school to work as a cab driver in Kampala. He quickly gathered funds from here and purchased his own taxi, which he continued to drive. In the 1980s, he purchased four more taxis and gave them to others to drive, allowing him to earn money on a regular basis.
Sam Biyinzika is currently married to Milly Mukasa, with whom he has children including a son named Isaac Mukasa.
Samuel Muwanguzi Mukasa, Jr., one of his children, died in a mountaineering accident in the Canmore Mountains of Alberta on May 28, 2023.
Career and Professional Work Experience
In 1990, Samuel Biyinzika and his wife Milly Mukasa established Biyinzika Enterprises Limited, now Biyinzika Poultry International Limited, as a poultry breeder farm.
The farm has steadily expanded over the years to become one of the most well-known brands in the Ugandan chicken sector. It is currently East Africa’s largest supplier of day-old chicks and poultry feed.
Biyinzika Enterprises is additionally supported by subsidiaries such as Tyson Feeds and Tyson Chicks, among others.

Achievements and Awards
Mukasa has spent the last 31 years running Biyinzika Enterprises Ltd, which operates hatcheries and sells chicks throughout East Africa.
The corporation has been crucial in Uganda’s agri-business sector, controlling at least 65% of the market share at one point.
Biyinzika Enterprises was also worth more than Sh40 billion and employed over 10,000 people.
Controversies
Samuel Mukasa is set to lose his multi-million dollar company, Biyinzika Enterprises Ltd, due to a dfcu and Cairo Bank loan.
Tumusiime, Kabega & Co. Advocates, the lenders’ lawyers, have since advertised Biyinzika’s properties, stating that they will be auctioned off on October 12, 2023.
This would be done unless Biyinzika paid the mortgage balance, as well as the associated fees and costs of recovery, before the sale date, which was 30 days after the advertisement.
Dina Apartments in Ntinda, Kampala; 41 acres of land in Kasambya with hatcheries capable of producing 460,000 birds per week; and 100 acres of land in Bulemeezi were among the advertised properties.
Biyinzika received equity from the 8 Miles venture capital fund in 2014, allowing the poultry business to expand renaming it Biyinzika International.
The company wanted to focus on new products for regional markets at the time. However, 8 Miles eventually took over management of the company.
Samuel Biyinzika was embroiled in a scandal over the alleged kidnapping, detention, and torture of city lawyer Patrick Machika Mugisha.
The genesis was a complaint filed by one Samuel Biyinzika, who claimed he was defrauded of 50 million Shillings by a group of people including lawyers.
The police had been unable to make any progress on the case for a long time until their officers were assigned to track down those involved and prosecute them, including Advocate Mugisha and one James N. Muliika, who were then placed in a safe house.
When the matter was brought to the Director-General’s attention, he immediately ordered their release and apologized for the blunder.
