Early Life and Education

Shannon Bream also known as Shannon Noelle DePuy at birth was born on December 23, 1970, in Sanford, Florida, United States of America.

She is the daughter of Marie Norris and the late Clarence Edward DePuy Jr., a former U.S. Marine and law enforcement officer, who passed away in April 2013. 

Her brother was a pilot in the United States Navy before retiring.

Growing up in Tallahassee, Shannon Bream became interested in journalism at a young age. Her first employment involved assisting Marie Norris, her mother, with home renovations. She would scrape the paint from the window panes with a scraper.

She graduated with the class of 1988 from Tallahassee’s North Florida Christian High School.

Shannon started attending Liberty University in Lynchburg in 1988. While attending, she competed in pageants and won the title of Miss Virginia in 1990.

She then competed in the Miss America 1991 pageant, placing in the top 10. A large portion of her undergraduate education was funded by her scholarship.

Shannon relocated to Tallahassee to attend Florida State University’s law school in 1993, having earned a magna cum laude degree in business management from Liberty University. 

She worked as a congressional intern for Florida’s Bill McCollum in the US House of Representatives.

She placed fourth in the Miss USA 1995 pageant and won the Miss Florida USA pageant in 1995 while attending Florida State Law School. 

Once more, the scholarships she received from Miss USA pageants helped her pay for her legal education.

Bream is a trained classical pianist and a devoted Christian. 

Shannon’s spouse, Sheldon Bream, is a brain tumour survivor who runs a business that links event organisers with speakers.

They got married on December 30, 1995, when she was attending Liberty University in Lynchburg. The couple doesn’t have any children.

Career and Professional Work Experience

Shannon Bream moved to Tampa, Florida, after earning her JD with honours from Florida State University College of Law in 1996. She then started working as a lawyer specialising in sexual harassment and racial discrimination.

Eventually, she decided to pursue a career in television news instead of practising law.

In 2000, she started working as an intern at Tampa, Florida’s WFTS-TV (Channel 28).

She relocated to Charlotte, North Carolina, in 2001, where she started working as an evening and late-night news reporter for WBTV, the CBS affiliate.

Following three years at WBTV, Shannon moved to NBC affiliate WRC-TV in Washington, D.C. in 2004. She worked as a weekend anchor and general assignment reporter for them.

Shannon got to know Brit Hume, the managing editor of Fox News Channel’s Washington bureau, when she worked at WRC-TV. She sent Fox News audition tapes with his encouragement.

In November 2007, Shannon began working for Fox News Channel as a Supreme Court correspondent based in Washington, D.C. 

She began carrying out the duties of an anchor in addition to being a correspondent. 

She started off as the host of “America’s News Headquarters” on the weekends before moving on to anchor “Fox News @ Night.”

FNC announced on August 11, 2022, that Shannon would take Chris Wallace’s place as Fox News Sunday’s permanent anchor from September 11, 2022.
