This article is for you if you wish to remove a specific phone number registered under your national ID in Uganda. It’s possible to do so by yourself when you follow the right steps.
The right procedure for obtaining a sim card with any telecommunications provider is that you must present a valid Form of Identification such as a passport, refugee card, or national identity card.
However, some people see this as being tedious so they end up purchasing pre-registered sim cards from merchants or borrowing other people’s identification credentials.
You might not even be aware that someone is stealing and wrongly using your identity during this procedure. However, you must know that you are accountable for any fraud or crime carried out using a sim card registered in your name.
For that reason, you must act right away to prevent your name from being associated with wrongful acts.
