4. Choose “Parental Controls”:

In the account settings, look for the “Parental Controls” option. Click on it to proceed.

5. Set Up Your PIN:

Amazon Prime Video uses a PIN (Personal Identification Number) to control access to restricted content.

You will be prompted to create a PIN. Choose a unique PIN that is not easily guessable but something you can remember.

6. Select Viewing Restrictions:

You will have the option to choose viewing restrictions based on age. Amazon provides four age categories: All, 7+, 13+, and 18+.

Select the appropriate age range for your child. This will determine the type of content they can access.

7. Set Up Purchase PIN (Optional):

If you want to prevent unauthorized purchases or rentals, you can set up a separate purchase PIN.

This PIN will be required whenever someone tries to make a purchase or rent content on your account.

8. Confirm Your Settings:

Review the settings you’ve chosen and ensure they align with your preferences. If everything looks correct, click on the “Save” or “Apply” button to save your parental control settings.

9. Test the Controls:

To ensure that your parental controls are functioning as intended, attempt to access content that should be restricted based on the settings you’ve chosen.

You should be prompted to enter your PIN to proceed.

10. Adjust as Needed:

Over time, you may want to adjust your parental control settings as your child grows older or your preferences change.

You can always go back to the “Parental Controls” section in your account settings to make adjustments.

11. Use Profiles for Different Age Groups (Optional):

Amazon Prime Video allows you to create multiple user profiles within a single account. This is helpful if you have family members of different age groups.

You can apply specific parental control settings to each profile, ensuring appropriate content for each family member.

12. Regularly Review and Update:

Make it a habit to review and update your parental control settings. This is especially important if your child’s interests evolve or if you feel that the current restrictions are either too lenient or too strict.

By setting up parental controls on Amazon Prime Video, you’re taking an active step in managing your child’s media consumption and ensuring that the content they access aligns with your family values and guidelines.

Regular monitoring and open communication about media choices will contribute to a safe and enjoyable viewing experience for your children.
