COVID-19: President Museveni to address the nation on Tuesday as Uganda cases rise to 52
Uganda COVID-19 confirmed cases now stand at 52, no death, no recovery, the figures rose to 52 after President Yoweri Museveni announced more 4 cases via his twitter handle on Sunday evening 4, April 2020.
President Museveni said all the confirmed cases were returnees and were under quarantine. He, however, said all the patients are doing well and promised to give more details on Tuesday 6, April 5, 2020.
“Countrymen, Countrywomen and the Bazzukulu. Greetings! I have received your comments and I will answer them on Tuesday. In the meantime, today the 5th of April, 2020, 300 samples were tested and 4 were positive. All the 4 were in the quarantine,” President Museveni Tweeted.
‘’This, therefore, brings the total of the people who are positive to 52. All the patients are doing well under medical care. I will inform you more on Tuesday,” he added.

The victims include; a 66-year-old woman who arrived from Dubai on 22, March 2020, a resident of Luzira Kampala.
The second case is a woman aged 65 who arrived from Dubai on March 22, 2020, a resident of Jinja.
The third case is the 26-year-old man who arrived from Dubai on 22, March 2020,
And the fourth case is a 22-year-old male who arrived from Dubai on 22, March 2020, a resident of Kikakiro Wakiso District.
Director General Health Services, Dr Henry Mwebesa said yesterday on Sunday a total of 377 people were discharged from institutional quarantine.
Mwebesa said all the previous confirmed COVID-19 cases are doing well at Mulago Specialized Hospital, Entebbe Grade B Hospital, Hoima Hospital and Adjumani Hospital.
“Today, 377 people have been discharged from institutional quarantine. A total of 602 people are under institutional quarantine while 834 contacts to the confirmed cases are under follow up. Uganda has not registered any COVID-19 related death, Mwebesa said.
Globally, 1,274,346 coronavirus cases have been reported, 69,480 deaths and 264,838 recoveries.
The USA, the current epicentre of coronavirus overtaking Italy and Spain has 336,830 confirmed cases higher than Italy which has 128,948 cases and Spain which has 131,646 cases.
However, the death toll in the US, 9, 618 is lower compared to Spain, 12,641 and Italy, 15, 887.
