So you’ve noticed a change in the colour of your iMessage from blue to green, yes? You are probably wondering what this means. Usually, it’s because of one or two reasons that will talk about.

For someone who’s seeing this for the first time, it can be both shocking and annoying. It’s also very easy to assume the worst, such as your SIM card being blocked or something. However, we are here to tell you that this happens a lot and it’s nothing to be worried about.

This post will demonstrate some well-known to-work methods for changing your iMessage colour bubbles from Green to standard Blue and more.

What do the green and blue messages mean and how to fix them

If your message was sent to another Apple user over iMessage it will appear as a blue bubble. On the other side, if it is green, the message was delivered to a non-Apple user or you are having additional issues.

You might wonder why your texts appear green when they should be blue if you use an iPhone. Well, there are a few causes for why iMessage became green such as;

The receiver’s phone is off

First, determine if any of your contacts are experiencing iMessage green issues. Your messages will switch to SMS and show up as green bubble messages on iPhones if your recipients don’t have an iPhone or haven’t turned on their iMessages. The lack of an active internet connection could be another factor.

To fix this, confirm that the other person is using an iPhone or has iMessage turned on.

iMessage is turned off

SMS or iMessage can be used to send messages on an iPhone. The iMessage feature can be turned on or off independently. Consequently, the possibility that your iMessage is disabled is one of the main causes of iMessage green starting to appear.

To fix this, visit Settings and turn on iMessage. After selecting the Messages option, turn on iMessage. After that, send a message to see if it appears in the blue bubble.

Network is unavailable

The only time iMessage will function on your iPhone is if it is online. Therefore, issues with the network or the internet connection could be the cause of the green iPhone messages.

Verify that your phone is connected to WiFi by sliding up from the bottom of the screen. Turn off your WiFi and resend your iMessage using your data if your connection is shaky.

Approaches to change Your iMessage colour bubbles from Green to the standard Blue.

These approaches will most likely fix other possible causes for iMessage being green and not blue

Approach 1: Restarting Your Phone

You should reset your phone as soon as possible. Pressing the power button repeatedly will help with this. Also, try to message someone once your phone is turned back on. This should be able to solve the problem, however, if this approach doesn’t work, you can do more from your settings panel just like this;

Approach 2: Using your settings Panel

  • The ‘Message’ app should be deleted. Delete it from your recently used apps by swiping it up on the app on your home screen.
  • Then select Message from the options menu.
  • Next, turn off iMessage and then back on again after a short while.
  • Try sending someone a message once more after opening the Messages app.
  • Instead of opening your most recent chat, though, press on the upper right corner of your screen, type in their name, and text the person.
  • Messages should once again default to the blue bubble colour after this has reset your iMessage colour.

Conclusion

Unquestionably the best smartphone available is the iPhone, but occasionally it experiences issues like the green text message on the iPhone. Thankfully, as we have already mentioned in our article, iMessage typically just requires a quick fix.

We hope you’ve gathered useful information as far as the green and blue iMessages are concerned.  Furthermore, consider restarting your phone if you get “iMessage not working” and other iOS system issues.
