Everything you need to know about how to use Google Search Labs and more will be discussed here.
The Google division of Alphabet launched Search Labs as a way to give Google Search users a sneak peek at new features and experiments before they are made available to the general public.
On May 10, 2023, during the Google I/O conference, the Search Labs project was unveiled. Search has always been the cornerstone of Google’s business, and the company’s engineers have been working on the technology for years.
Up until they were ready for the general public, Google kept iterations and improvements for the primary Google search engine a secret. Google intends to give people a sneak peek of conceivable next features through Google Search Labs.
Google is experimenting with new features and making them available through Google Search Labs to test them out with interested people.
Experiments available on Google Search Labs

Since its launch, Google Search Labs is currently running several experiments:
Augmented Reality (AR)
One of the experimental features combines augmented reality (AR) with search results to create more interactive and immersive experiences. For instance, when looking for a particular animal species, viewers may be shown a 3D image that can be viewed on a mobile device.
Add to Sheets
The online spreadsheet service Google Sheets is provided by Google. The Add to Sheets Search Labs project will allow users to easily add a Google search result to a Google Sheets spreadsheet.
The objective of this experiment is to give users another method of sharing search results. Users of Google Sheets can log search results with a spreadsheet and share them quickly because they are in a shareable format.
Code Tips
The Code Tips experiment with Search Labs aims to respond to questions about programming code.
The first set of languages that will be supported by the Code Tips experiment are C, C++, Go, Java, JavaScript, Kotlin, Python, and TypeScript. The use of well-known development tools like Docker and Git will also be available for users to ask.
Search Generative Experience (SGE).
Being a means of SGE delivery was one of Google Search Labs’ original goals. The SGE is a novel generative artificial intelligence (AI) interface for Search. It is supported by Google’s Pathways Language Model 2, a big language model that can answer questions, offer suggestions, and give users a conversational interface alternative for search results.

Timeline View
With the help of this tool, you can view search query-related data in reverse chronological order. In an understandable visual timeline format, Timeline View groups news items, historical events, or any other time-stamped data.
Signing up for Search Labs
On May 10, 2023, Google began accepting applications from individuals who were interested in joining Search Labs. Users solely in the United States have been the first permitted to sign up.
Users do not instantly have access to the experiments after completing the sign-up process at launch. Instead, it places interested individuals on a waiting list for access to the experiments, which Google plans to launch in May and June 2023.

Conclusion
Google Search Labs is a component of the company’s bigger initiative to let people test out Google’s newly developed capabilities.
