Bayern Munich practices social distancing on the first day of training since the suspension of Bundesliga over Coronavirus

Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich resumed their training on Monday for the first time as the German League was suspended due to coronavirus but players were put to their paces and social distancing was observed.

In a bid to fight the spread of coronavirus, the German called on all it’s locals to observe social distancing and this was very evident as Bayern Munich players resumed their training for the first time since the Bundesliga was suspended due to the pandemic.

The players held training in small groups and a few meters far from each other as well the fans were not allowed to attend the club’s training. 

According to a club statement, this was done in proper coordination with government directives of observing social distancing to try and mitigate virus spread.

As so doing, the club also requested the public and fans to adhere to all government rules like staying home and not show up to the club’s training ground. 

“This will be done in coordination with government policy and the relevant authorities. All hygiene regulations will be strictly observed,” a statement from the club read.

It added;

“To further slow the spread of the coronavirus, Bayern asks fans to continue to follow the instructions of the authorities and therefore please do not come to the Bayern training ground.”

Bayern Munich before the league was suspended due to coronavirus was topping the log on four points ahead of second-placed Borussia Dortmund on 51 points.

RB Leipzig is third on 50 points and Borussia Mönchengladbach fourth with 49 points all after only 25 games.

Meanwhile, Werder Bremen, Paderborn and Dusseldorf are the three teams still in the relegation battle.

German is one of the countries that have been most hit by this pandemic with up to 103,375 cases and 1,810 deaths from the virus as of April 6th.

As the number of people infected with the Coronavirus continues to rise, German leaders and politicians have already regarded the pandemic their biggest challenge since World War ll.

In so doing the county has also come up with dramatic measures like stay home and keeping social distancing as a way of mitigating the spread of the virus.

Elsewhere, other leagues have not yet resumed training as coronavirus continues to claim millions of lives globally. The virus-like flue, it is contagious, however, the only difference is that it is worse than the normal flue because it is thought to cause about 400,000 deaths each year globally. 

Coronavirus abbreviated as COVID -19 has no cure vaccine meaning it is more difficult for vulnerable members of the population – elderly people or those with existing respiratory or immune problems – to protect themselves.

Many measures including hand-washing with soap and avoiding crowded places and self-isolation if you feel an unusual cough have been put forth by the World Health Organization to help in the curbing on its spread.
