When King Oyo lost his father, King Patric David Mathew Kaboyo Olimi, in 1995, Kamurasi’s father helped guide King Oyo in matters of ruling.

As he matured, Britain became the backdrop for his personal and professional growth. It was during this time that he began to shape his identity and eventually ended up going after his greatest passion, which is football.

Over time, what started as a simple pastime ended up becoming a huge defining pillar in his life.

Even so, clear details about the exact schools he went to, his degrees, or why he moved to Britain are still hard to find.

After leaving prison, Kamurasi decided to focus on football. It gave him something positive to work towards and helped him stay focused on improving his life. Through the sport, he began to see new opportunities for himself.

Experiences That Shaped His Journey

His playing career includes time spent with clubs like Ashford United and SE Dons, which is a grassroots football team located in south-east London.

Back in 2014, British rapper Don Strapzy launched SE Dons. From its humble beginnings as a local Sunday league squad, the team steadily climbed the ranks to become a respected and well-known fixture in English non-league football.

Out of the spotlight and away from the football pitch, Kamurasi has built a quiet family life in Britain. Public records show that he and his wife, Abbey Rooke (also known as Abbey Kamurasi), share a child together, and they were staying in South East London.

Being a husband and dad means everything to him, and that family life is a big reason why he chose not to become the next king of Tooro. He didn’t want to put his family through the pressure that comes with relocating just to fulfill his royal obligations in Uganda.

Before finalizing his decision, Kamurasi ordered a full audit of Tooro Kingdom’s assets to draw a clear line between public holdings and private wealth.

Yet, with the clock ticking down to name a successor, the kingdom simply had no room to spare for the consultations he sought regarding law and family.

Because Kamurasi officially declined the throne, the Babiito royal clan moved to the next candidate on their list, selecting UBC news anchor and editor Prince Edward Rukidi Kijanangoma as their new king.
