Robert Kyagulanyi managed to have a successful campaign trail in parts of Abim, Agago and Kapelebyong.

After running battles with the security operatives in the previous days, the National Unity Platform presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi managed to have a successful campaign trail in parts of Abim, Agago and Kapelebyong

When campaigning in Abim, Kyagulanyi promised to build a university in Abim district and to build more schools in the district plus health centres.

Kyagulanyi also criticized the NRM government of keeping people in the Acholi sub-region poor.

Still, in Abim the police blocked some of Kyagulanyi‘s supporters from accessing the campaign venue because they lacked face masks and some supporters decided to pass through the swamp to access the campaign venue.

“when you make me your president I will come back to Abim not to open a local defense unit but to open a school or a university ,” kyagulanyi said.

Kyagulanyi started his day with prayers at Kulongo in Agago district. After prayers, he headed directly to the organized campaign venue and he spoke to the cheered up supporters.

“ why are the people of Agago poor ?, why are the people of Northern Uganda poor?, that is because the leaders want you to be poor . what’s happening is not a mistake that it is intended to keep you poor so as to govern you ,” Kyagulanyi added.

Kyagulanyi promised to address the issue of security in the area which is affecting the people in this area. This district borders with Karamoja districts which have cattle rustlers and they always come to Abim and steal and kill those who try to resist the raid.

Most of Karamanjongs have guns yet most of the Abim residents just have arrows. But kyagulanyi has promised to address this problem by providing the necessary security to residents.

“it going to remembered that the young people in 2021 by using their vote they created security of their animals , cattle and other farm animals ,” Kyagulanyi added.

Abim and Agago are well known for growing crops such as cotton and sunflower but like other areas, they also face the problem of the poor roads in the region.
