To simplify Mobile Money transactions for those who dislike using USSD numbers, MTN Uganda created the Momo app.
MTN Uganda developed the Momo app for Mobile Money transactions to simplify the procedure for those who dislike using USSD numbers.
You will not need to remember the various USSD codes when using the MTN Momo app. Using the app, you may, among other things, pay bills, subscribe to data and phone bundles, and more.
We will demonstrate how to use the MTN Momo application to conduct mobile money transactions.
How to download and install the Momo App
- Download the MTN Momo app by navigating to the Google Play or iOS app stores.
- After selecting your location (Uganda), you will be prompted to provide your phone number.
- Then, MTN will give you a verification code via SMS that you will enter to confirm ownership of the number.
You may view your MTN Momo balance, your most recent transaction, and a list of additional options on the app’s homepage.
In the upper right corner of the Momo app are links to contact customer service, share the app, and log out.
How to use Momo Pay
You can use the app to pay for items at stores and locations that accept MTN Momo Pay.
You will be required to scan a QR code and authorise payment after tapping on the Momo Pay-enabled function in the app.
How to check your Account History on the MTN Momo app
Select My Account from the MTN Momo app’s bottom page.
You will be shown a section containing your Mobile Money account history, detailing how much you have lately received and spent.
You will be able to view a list of your most recent transactions.
Select Approvals to view any pending transactions awaiting your confirmation.
Scheduling Transactions with the Momo App
- On the app’s homepage, tap Schedule at the bottom of the screen.
- Choose between money transfers and payments.
- Enter the phone number, amount, and date of issuance.
- The frequency can then be selected from monthly, weekly, or daily.
How to send money using the MTN Momo App
On the MTN Momo app’s main page, hit Send Money. Additionally, you can tap on Send at the bottom of the page.
You will be prompted to choose whether you wish to send money to an MTN Uganda mobile number, outside Uganda, or bank.
Choose the desired option and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the transaction.
You must link your bank account to your MTN Momo account in order to transfer funds to your bank account. This is possible with the assistance of your bank.
Services on the Momo App
Through the Momo App, you can get MTN services that need mobile money payment. Among these services include purchasing data, purchasing airtime, and subscribing to Tidal.
Select MTN services from the App’s homepage to be redirected to a page where you may select the service you wish to use.
Choose the service you wish to subscribe to and follow the on-screen instructions.
After completion of the process, you will be prompted to enter your PIN to confirm the transaction.
How to Pay Your Bills with the MTN Momo App
Tap Bill Payments from the home page. Additionally, you can choose Pay Bill at the bottom of the page.
A new screen will appear, asking which bill you would like to pay. You can pay for utilities, television, school fees, sports betting, etc.
Select the bill you wish to pay and follow the on-screen instructions. You will be required to enter your Mobile Money PIN to authorise the transaction after the process is complete.
