How to Set up MTN Internet Settings in Uganda

Setting up your internet settings on a new device is the first thing you should do as soon as you get it. You can configure your internet settings using one of two easy techniques if you’re an MTN user.

You have the option of manually or automatically configuring your MTN Uganda internet settings.

Here are the different approaches how to set up an MTN internet connection;

First Approach 1: Automatic Internet Settings for MTN

  • Dial *160*10#.
  • MTN Internet Settings will be sent to your device.
  • You will be asked to save these settings which you should. Ensure to save them as ‘Default’.

Second Approach: Manual Internet Settings for MTN

How to Set up MTN Internet Settings in Uganda
  • Go to settings on your device.
  • Select the Mobile Data option.
  • Turn it on 
  • Select Mobile Data Network.
  • Enter these details: APN (Access point) – internet, Proxy: internet.mtn.co.ug, Proxy Port – 8080.

MTN Internet settings (Android Devices)

  • Tap on your Mobile Data option.
  • Go to Settings.
  • Click the Connections tab.
  • Click on the Mobile network.
  • Turn on your data roaming.
  • Select Access Point Names
  • Enter a new APN/point name
  • Enter these details: APN (Access point) – internet, Proxy: internet.mtn.co.ug, Proxy Port – 8080.
