Mugisha Muntu ANT party to front a flag bearer to challenge the incumbent in 2021 Presidential general elections
The Alliance for National Transformation (ANT) party confirmed that they will field a presidential candidate to challenge President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni of National Resistance Movement (NRM) Party, People Power leader, Robert Kyagulanyi and Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) former president and the People’s Government leader, Dr Kizza Besigye Kiffefe, come 2021 elections.
Gen Mugisha Muntu, ANT party national coordinator says their flag bearer will be determined at the ongoing countrywide consultations that are aimed at strengthening the party’s support.
Muntu confirms ANT party is strong enough to participate in the 2021 presidential race contrary to the earlier speculations that have ruled out ANT in the race.
He says they will compete in all elective positions.
“We have a flag bearer from within the internal processes of the Alliance. And we intend to fill 100% at all levels, but we are also flexible enough once we form a coalition to look at how we can leave out certain areas, for example, the councillor level, LC 111 level, LC 5 level

Nevertheless, Muntu whose processes are still engaged in vote consultation exercise decline to name ANT party presidential flag bearer pending internal elections.
“Because our biggest fear in the Alliance for National Transformation is to divert attention from the things which are necessary to be done now and put them on things which need to come later,” Muntu said.

“We should work to ensure that we are stable within ourselves, such that each party that comes into a coalition will have built high levels of stability within themselves. Two is that we must also build our capabilities, whatever organisation that is coming in, each one has got i

ANT has just completed the first phase of voter consultation where they make district coordinators, then the next phase will focus on constituency coordinators with the overall intention of establishing a fully framed party network.
