The birth of “Diamond Platnumz”
Diamond Platnumz birthname is Nasibu Abdul Juma, he was born on October 2, 1989, in Tandale Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Diamond’s parents are Sanura Kasumu and Abdul Juma.
Sadly Sanura and Abdul’s marriage did not last long Diamond is the only child of the couple. His mother Sanura raised Diamond as a single parent.
Though supportive of his interest in music, Sanura advised Diamond to complete his education first. Taking the counsel of his mother, he continued to attend secondary school education. He was able to finish and graduate in 2006.
In November 2014 he was awarded by the University of Dar es Salaam an honorary degree. It was to honour his contributions in promoting and exporting the art and culture of Tanzania.
His true father is coated in controversy. His biological father was initially believed to be Abdul Juma, whose family name he carries.
Later it was revealed by Sanura herself that Diamond Platnumz’s biological father is not Abdul but Salum Iddi Nyange. Nyange is the father of Diamond’s manager Ricardo. This situation makes them stepbrothers.
The rise of “Diamond Platnumz”
After finishing schooling with the help of his mother Diamond started to produce his music in 2007.
Like normal ventures, the initially released song did not do well. But instead of discouraging Diamond took it as a challenge to do better.
While developing himself he took menial jobs to earn cash. His hard work was rewarded in 2009 when he got into the Tanzanian music industry.

His Personal Life
The longest relationship Diamond ever had was with Zari Hassan. Their romance had a span of 4 years. Zari, his former partner is a Ugandan businesswoman who has two children with the ”Number one hitmaker”.
They met at Zari’s organized party where she invited him personally via a DM. The two met again in a flight and exchanged numbers.
Lights just sparked and the two started dating after a couple of weeks and could not stop communicating with each other via call. Zari admits the chemistry was awesome.
However, their romance turned sour when Diamond was caught cheating with Hamisa Mobeto.
The relationship with Tanzanian model Hamisa Mobeto brought him a third child. The two met on the filming site of Salome.
However, things did not go well for the two. After a court battle for child support, their relationship was never salvaged. Diamond tried his luck again with love in 2019. This time with Tanasha Donna whom he collaborated with the song “Gere”.
They had a son however due to hectic schedules the two separated. They maintain a good rapport as Tanasha would take her son to see Diamond.
They even have no issues performing together on stage.
Diamond is currently linked to Cassi Scheppel a woman of Turkish roots. Sources say as of June 2021 the two had been dating for six months.
This same year he was also rumoured to be seeing Andrea Abrahams a South African model. The gossip spread due to an Insta-Live conducted by Diamond which featured Andrea.
On record, Diamond Platnumz has four children: Latifah and Prince Nillan from Zari Hassan, Dylan from Hamisa and Naseeb from Tanasha.
However, in a Wasafi FM interview, he stated that he could have six children in total. One is believed to be in Dar es Salaam and was already visited by his mother.
Sanura upon seeing the child who is a girl stated that the child is his daughter. The mother of the child decided to hide the kid from him.
As for the second child, he also believes it is another daughter. However, since the mother of the second child is in a serious relationship. He would rather not bother them.
As of date, Diamond still has a sour relationship with his father Abdul Juma. This bitterness is from the fact that the man left him and his mother when Diamond was very young.
Fame and fortune is something Diamond Plantnumz has earned for himself despite all his hardships. He has received love and support from the people around him especially fans.
At Flash Uganda Media, we all wish him the best in his future feats as he continues to make good music and promote Tanzanian culture to the world.
