Diana Nabatanzi is a Ugandan movie actress, radio personality, TV presenter, movie producer, writer, director and a scriptwriter.
She is currently a presenter at BBS terefayina where she hosts various shows including a morning show called sumulula, kasukali and uga hood show.
She has also featured in drama TV series such as Honorable, ekirungo, nawolovu, Taxi 24 but the outstanding one has been Entuunnusi which featured on Bukedde TV.
Movies she has featured in include Abakyala bazira, Bwebatyo, Call 112, Sikola, House of rent, the maker, Omuzira mu bazira, Bunjako which is a horror movie and one of a kind in Uganda.
Early life and education
Diana Nabatanzi comes from the family of Fred Magala who is the father and Rosemary Nanteza who is the mother.
Diana is the second born of five children and as a child, she says she was inspired by her father who used to buy for them wireless microphones and they could mimic most of the presenters and this how fired up her love for the electronic media grew.
While at school she developed the love for acting and she could participate in school dramas, Christmas plays and school inter competition.
Diana Nabatanzi went to St. Elizabeth primary school for her elementary level then she joined St Mary’s Nsuba for her O level.
She then joined St Joseph centenary school for her A- level and immediately after completing the secondary education she registered for a diploma course in Journalism and Mass communication at Kampala University.
She later pursued a degree in business administration at Ndejje University.
Diana Nabatanzi traces back her acting career while still in school where she participated in school drama school plays and also singing.
After her senior six, she started pursuing her career in movie acting and she did this by joining a production company known as Aromatic films and she immediately started featuring in movies such as Sikola, Bwebatyo, call 112, house arrest, abakyala bazira, the maker and bunjako the first horror movie that was produced in Uganda.
In 2017 an opportunity came through at a local TV station called Bukedde TV which wanted a local drama TV series and gave Diana’s production company Aromatic which came up with a drama series known as Nawolovu where Diana acted and this introduced her to the world.
When Nawolovu ended Bukedde still gave the group a chance and they came up with another successful drama which known as Entuunnusi still under Aromatic films.
In 2017 she starred in a drama TV show known as Mistakes Girls Do which was airing on a TV station known as Pearl Magic and was produced by Richard Mulindwa under Limit production.
The series was about the lives of young women, the mistakes they make in their lives, the consequences they face and the lessons they learn.
She starred alongside Joan Agaba, Mukasa Brandon, and jean Kobusingye jovita, Nantabi Juliet, Hellen Lukoma, Doreen mirembe, Doreen Nabbanja and many more.
She also featured in John Segawa’s Nondurables that was airing on NTV Uganda and later Pearl magic.
Nabatanzi studied journalism at Kampala University and during her diploma studies she carried out her internship at a Christian radio station known as Prime radio which exposed her to radio presentation.
She later joined Uganda Broadcasting corporation / Star tv here she worked for two years as a presenter and gained a lot of experience and she was also working with Pearl FM a Muslim radio station where she also worked for two years.
She also worked with Train up the world at Uganda National cultural centre and featured on the billboards of the electoral commission. In 2016 after the launch of BBS terefayina she was recruited as a presenter together with her friend Nampijja.
She was given two shows at the start which were BBS terefayina wangula and a wedding show called Ye wange.
She was later given another show called Kirikitya which could air every day at noon but currently, she hosts a morning show called Sumulula which airs every single morning at BBS terefayina.

Diana Nabatanzi runs a private life and it’s hard to trace the name of her husband and does not expose him in a limelight and rumour has it that she has two children although she denies it publically.
It was also rumoured that she was once in a relationship with her boss Ahmed Lubowa but she refutes the claims.
Early this year news started making rounds on social media that she had been fired from BBS TV and her contract had been terminated with immediate effect but the station later clarified that she was still their full-time employee.
Mid this year Diana Nabatanzi hit her Instagram page posting an emotional message after being dumped by her boyfriend who she didn’t reveal.
In the message, she said “you always thought there was something romantic about fighting for someone about winning them back. But you sit there with stones in your chest where your hope used to lie, you realize that there is nothing lovely about having to continuously convince someone to love you. Love your self and cherish more those who are always there for you.
After a successful tv drama called Nawolovu, news started making rounds on social media that Diana Nabatanzi had left aromatic films production over issues relating with a rift that had developed between her and her close friend Florence Nampijja.
Rumours started circulating that Diana and Florence were not Seeing Eye to eye over their boss Ahmed Lubowa.
Tabloids started writing that Ahmed Lubowa was dating these two beautiful queens and they ended up finding out about their status which annoyed Diana Nabatanzi and she decided to quit the production company but Diana refuted the claims and said this was just social media talk.
