Yvonne Chaka Chaka denies deportation claims by Uganda Police, says she was not deported
Yvonne Chaka Chaka, a South African music star has denied deportation claims by Uganda Police. Chaka Chaka who had come to Uganda to perform at Buganda’s annual event Enkuuka Y’omwaka was forced to leave the country before the event on the 31st, December 2019.
Chaka Chaka who described Uganda security agencies as dishonest and brutal during an interview with a South African broadcaster on Thursday, 2nd, 2020, said that her experience with Ugandan securities was a difficult moment.
This was after a video she released earlier saying she was not deported and would be back to Uganda anytime.
“How can they claim that I didn’t have the right Visa to enter the country yet they had allowed me into the country where I had already spent a night? Remember I have been to the country many times before,” Chaka Chaka said during the interview session.

Chaka Chaka says after this horrific interaction with security agents, she refused to take up their free ticket back to South Africa and instead hired another car that dropped her to the airport and boarded a flight back to South Africa.
She says it was right for her to make a video to tell the world that she was safe, not deported neither arrested as Uganda Police had claimed, to cool down her fans and family.
“My children were very terrified. They vowed never to come to Uganda again,” Chaka Chaka said.

Musinguzi says Police has no excuse for their action towards the South African Music Icon because they legally processed her coming to perform at Enkuuka. He says before her coming they alerted Uganda securities and the South African embassy in Uganda.
Police’s statement over the matter
Security deported Chaka Chaka on grounds that she lacked a Visa indicating her intended music activities in Uganda.
Speaking about her deportation, Police spokesperson, Fred Enanga said they found out that Chaka Chaka entered Uganda on an ordinary Visa of a visitor, yet she came to do music performances which required special Visa.
And Immigration Department immediately acted on the matter, cancelled her temporary Visa and security officers accompanied her to Entebbe International Airport and she was taken back to South Africa.
The South African music icon, Chaka Chaka is a close friend and supporter to Singer Bobi Wine who turned political leading the People Power Pressure Group and having intentions to challenge the incumbent in the coming 2020 general elections.
