Jumia named Uganda’s best online shopping platform by the GeoPoll
Jumia has been named the best online shopping platform in all countries except Tanzania following a 10th January 2019 study report published by the GeoPoll.
The study conducted in Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Nigeria, and Côte d’Ivoire has seen Jumia emerge as the dominant e-commerce site in the country with up to 76% of the country’s online shoppers using the platform to make their purchases.
Besides, it revealed that trust and prepayment for orders as one of the leading barriers of online shopping, a barrier that Jumia is breaking down with its cash on the delivery payment option and 7-day cash back return policy.
Under the study, it was also evident that while shopping online, Ugandans purchased more electronics, with fashion coming second and finally groceries as the most popular categories.
A trend that echoes Jumia consumer trends during last year’s successful Black Friday campaign.
“Every day Ugandans visit our website or our app shows us that they trust our services and trust us to deliver and make their lives easier and our strategy in 2020 is to make sure we keep doing just that.” Jumia Uganda CEO Ron Kawamara implied.Tweet
Jumia is an online shopping site where one can purchase all many luxuries including electronics, books, home appliances, kiddies items, fashion items for men, women, and children; cool gadgets, computers, groceries, automobile parts, and more on a mere click.
The e-commerce platform aims at creating connecting African consumers and entrepreneurs to do better business together.
Founded in 2012, with a presence all over Africa, Jumia Group has been creating a sustainable ecosystem of digital services and infrastructures through online marketplaces and classifieds to expand horizons.
